Pressure Testing

Demonstrating the safe and reliable operation of components and systems

A component or system must not only meet technical specifications but also function reliably under its intended operating conditions. Matecs uses pressure testing to verify the integrity and performance of components in a controlled manner—whether dealing with a newly manufactured part, a refurbished component, or an existing installation. Such strength testing provides assurance regarding safety, quality, and operational suitability.

Ensuring reliability through pressure testing

Pressure testing is a crucial step when the reliability of a component or system needs to be verified. By building up pressure in a controlled way and assessing the component’s behavior, potential irregularities can be identified early on. This minimizes risks and ensures the component can be used safely.

Depending on applicable standards, certification requirements, or specific customer needs, a component may undergo a leak test or tightness test, where the test pressure exceeds the actual operating pressure.

Technical capabilities

When is a pressure test used?

We perform pressure tests on existing components that have been repaired, refurbished, or modified, as well as on newly manufactured parts. A pressure test verifies whether a component designed to operate under pressure meets the required specifications and is safe for use. Test results are documented in a report that serves as evidence of quality and safety when the component is used in accordance with applicable guidelines.

We want certainty

Once a part has been repaired or overhauled, a pressure test can be performed to verify that the system is safe, leak-free, and reliable before being put back into service.

Reports are requested

Following the completion of a product, a pressure test is conducted to verify that all connections and components can withstand the specified operating pressure and meet the applicable safety requirements.

Technical certainty based on practical experience

At Matecs, pressure testing is an integral part of the overall technical process. Our experience in engineering, manufacturing, repair, and overhaul gives us a deep understanding of how components are designed, produced, and used.

This enables us not only to evaluate test results but also to provide immediate input on any necessary next steps.
