Bench Working & Assembly

Bench working and assembly

In addition to its own machining and welding departments, Matecs also has a dedicated assembly department. Our team of experienced fitters has extensive capacity to handle large-scale assembly and fitting work, with ample workspace, a wide range of tools and sufficient crane capacity.

Assembly, fabrication, repair and overhaul are all part of this team’s daily work. Whether it involves our own products, such as valves and bearing blocks, or products supplied by our customers, we have the expertise to get the job done. Most work is carried out in-house, but on-site services are no problem either.

Repair and Overhaul

Our customers rely on us for a wide range of repair and overhaul services. These include repairing or replacing defective or worn components, as well as carrying out complete overhauls of parts or structures and performing rework. At our machine shop, components and products are restored to their original dimensions in accordance with technical drawings, using a variety of techniques and metalworking processes. Among other things, we can apply coatings of varying thicknesses to different grades of steel and highly alloyed materials through thermal spraying and weld overlay. No technical drawing available? No problem. We can measure the product at our facility and create a new technical drawing.

Our Repair and Overhaul Procedure

We carry out repairs and overhauls in accordance with a standard procedure. During disassembly, all findings are documented in a damage report, which serves as the basis for a repair proposal.

The damage is then repaired, or components are overhauled or replaced as required. If desired, the final inspection can be carried out by an independent certification body.
